What do you want to be when you grow up?

Today was "Career Day" at school for Natasha. In preparation for this day, they have been learning about what people do at their jobs, and we have been talking as a family about what people that we know do for a living. Natasha was to choose what she wanted to be, and dress up as that profession today.

She has been saying for the last few weeks that she wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up. We had a perfect outfit chosen, cleaned, laid out and ready to go, but... When Natasha came home from school yesterday, she told me that her teacher had asked the kids to draw a picture of what they were coming dressed as, and that she drew a cheerleader. What?!?! Where did that come from... oh yea, we had a discussion on how cowgirls spent time with horses all day which sounded great to her, but we also let her know that meant cleaning up after the horses too, so I guess that didn't sound as appealing as she had though. Sometime during that discussion, she talked about cheerleaders and said that sounded like a fun "job" because you got to clap all day...
okay.

After a lot of drama, and a tear filled confession of trying to get a new outfit out of the deal, Natasha bought herself a cheerleading outfit, and she looked darling in it.

Last week she had a Rodeo Day at school, and was thrilled to be able to dress
in her cowgirl outfit that we already had. She was asked to make a stick horse and decorate it. It really turned out cute, and it was a wonderful day for her!

Cassie didn't want to be left out of the fun.

WOW! Hilarious! At leat she chose prefessions that will bring home the bacon! Litterally as a cowgirl! Are you sure you didn't say "What do you want to be for Halloween?" Are there professional cheer leaders? Maybe it is all the Jazz games she has been watching!
