Finally some progress

I have been working on a lot of house projects lately. Really, I have. But, if you were to come to my house, you would wonder what I have been doing with all of my time. My problem is that I made a "to do" list with about 50 things I wanted/had to get done. I started checking off the easier items, leaving the more time consuming things for later. Well, that produced several projects that were partially done. I couldn't take the chaos anymore, and finally had to bite the bullet and do some of the more time consuming things.

All of the kitchen cabinets are painted!!! I finished the painting, and have added all of the new hardware as well. I painted the island a different color, which Aaron thought was a strange idea, but I like how it turned out. This darker color has made our white microwave, stove, and dishwasher really stand out, but we knew that would happen. All new stainless appliances are on the list...one of these days.

Natasha's room is done (almost). Just a little more touch up on the trim - rounded corners and trim don't get along very well. OCD that I am, I could play with it for the next year and still not be happy, but I will try to leave well enough alone...soon. One thought though, do you think I should leave the closet doors white, or paint them the lighter brown color to match the trim, and possibly make it look more like barn doors? This is by far the most daring paint choice I have made, and I don't want it to be too dark in there, but the brown doors might be cute, or would they just make the room door (which is white) stand out more... you see my dilema. Let me know what you think!

A day with Uncle Isaac

Natasha is making the most of her last few days off track. Today she went to the rock climbing gym with her Uncle Isaac. It was a special treat to be able to spend this time with her Uncle, and she loved it. He taught her some good basic climbing techniques, but of course she wanted to do the fancy stuff like Isaac does. She looks forward to going again, and wants to do a Summer camp that they offer after school is out.

We are very proud of Isaac. He has been climbing for 11 years now, and is very well known in the climbing world. He travels all over the world accomplishing new feats. We look forward to the DVD from his climbing trip to Thailand that will be coming out soon.

The best surprise!

We had the best surprise the other day. An unexpected knock at the door brought an unexpected package, which Natasha quickly realized had her name and Cassie's name on it. We opened the package to find gifts for the girls. No reason, just darling gifts from my cousin Kirstynn. The girls were thrilled, it truely made their day. Also included were Target gift certificates, they were in heaven!! Natasha got a Hannah Montana shirt, and Cassie found the sales so she got a Minnie Mouse shirt and and Ariel shirt. This was such a wonderful thing, I think I will have to start sending people packages for no reason. Thanks Kirstynn!!!

Cowgirl room is coming along

We have done a lot of work on Cassie's room in the past few weeks, and I was afraid that Natasha was feeling a little left out. Yesterday we picked her up from school and went in search of accessories to go with the cowgirl theme of her room. We have slowly been adding things to her new theme, but I figured that we would really make an effort that day. We went to three different stores, and were able to find at least one great thing at each place. Her favorite find was the star board that we turned into a headboard. A little paint and finishing work, and her room should be in great shape!

It has been a while since I have updated friends and family with the latest info and pictures, so here they come fast and furious.

My first time using vinyl. These are Cassie's initials for her room. I thought it turned out really cute.

Our master bath is really looking nice now!

It is nice to have a place for all of my craft stuff, and a computer desk again!

Natasha had a wonderful birthday!

Easter pictures - including Cassie picking her nose while the rest of us tried not to squint too much, the sun was right in our faces.

I just got back from a trip to Michigan for my Grandfather's funeral. It was going to be a joint birthday party for my Grandparents, turning 75 and 80, but Grandpa had other places that he needed to be. The funeral was a sweet and touching family moment, and then we went ahead with the party as planned. It was an incredible party, with talent provided by my witty and nutty family, it included stand up comedy, fire breathing, Mexican ribbon dancing, skits, biking tricks on top of tables, and on and on. It was a wonderful day to celebrate the life of a wonderful man.

Caldiero Family

Alright, enough already I will start a blog. "Everyone is doing it!", I have been told over and over, by ward members, friends, and family. Now, my darling husband is even telling me, "I hear it isn't too hard to do...". So, here is it, simple for now, but a blog none the less.
